Main Street District

Located in the Historic Downtown area is the Main Street District. It’s home to upscale hotels, designer boutiques and a variety of restaurants that includes everything from casual dining to sophisticated white-glove table service. You’ll also find chic cocktail bars nestled in between. Running between Elm and Commerce, Main Street is the city’s center. While this area was one of the first neighborhoods to undergo urban redevelopment, now being home to most of the city’s major retailers, banks and hotels, it still hasn’t lost its historic charm. Much of the original architecture has been restored, which only adds to this neighborhood’s uniqueness.

This district is also the backbone of the city. It connects outlying areas for dining, entertainment and work, however, doesn’t include Dealey Plaza.

The lifestyle around Main Street checks all the boxes. With all the modern conveniences, like shopping plazas and entertainment, to small coffee houses where the baristas know your name, the Main Street District is the perfect place for urban dwellers who still want a small-community feel.

The district is also home to the AT&T Performing Arts Center and the American Airlines Center where the Mavericks and Dallas Stars play. On days you want to take things slow, Klyde Water Park is the place to go. With plenty of playgrounds and food trucks to sample, it’s the perfect place to spend a weekend afternoon.
