El Paso

Tucked in the western corner of Texas at the base of the Franklin Mountains and along the border of Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, is El Paso. The city is known for its military presence, anchored by Fort Bliss, and for being “Sun City,” thanks to an average of 302 days of sun per year. Incorporated in 1873, it now covers 259.3 square miles, and has a median age of 33 (2022). Its economy is mainly driven by the military, tourism, healthcare, oil and gas, international trade, and government civil service.

Homes in El Paso have been built in Pueblo, Mission, Spanish, Italianate, Victorian, and Neoclassical styles. The average price of a house is $205,489, up 16.0% over the past year (Zillow, 2022). Enhancing its appeal are annual events, such as the Southwestern International PRCA Rodeo, El Paso Balloonfest, and Neon Desert Music Festival.

El Paso is served by I-10, I-110, and U.S. Highways 10, 54, 62, 85, and 180. Just off Highway 54 is the neighborhood of Castner Heights. It’s close to both downtown and Fort Bliss, and offers single-family homes in multiple architectural styles. On the other side of Highway 54 is Park Foothills, a quiet and tight-knit community with easy access to boutiques, restaurants, and entertainment. Cielo Vista, accessible via I-10, contains great schools and a variety of homes.

A beautiful climate, fantastic amenities, and a low cost of living – they all meet in El Paso.
