Boise

Boise, Idaho, is much more than just the state capital and the “The City of Trees.” It’s close to the best of what nature has to offer, specifically, lakes, rivers, mountains, canyons, and deserts. Founded in 1863, most of the metropolitan area lies on a broad, flat plain. Its median age is 37.5 (2022). Mining, tourism, and food processing are among the main drivers of the 85 square-mile city’s economy.

Homes in Boise have been built in many styles: Tudor, Spanish, Italianate, Colonial, Neoclassical, Romanesque, Queen Anne, and Folk Victorian. The typical home value is $515,432, which is down 4% over the past year (Zillow, 2022). Fun things to do in Boise include annual events, such as the Hyde Park Street Fair, Art in the Park, and the Boise Soul Food Fest.

Major thoroughfares serving Boise include I-84, I-184, and U.S. Highway 26. Just east of downtown, off U.S. Highway 26, is the East End neighborhood. Here, homebuyers can find everything from 1900s Craftsman-style homes to new builds. Also accessible via U.S. Highway 26 is Highlands, where Ranch-style and Mid-Century Modern homes line quiet streets. Picturesque bungalows are in North End, which lies directly north of downtown.

Residents enjoy Boise because it’s scenic, has an abundance of outdoor activities, and consistently lovely weather, whether it’s sunny, snowing, or raining.
