Nampa

For a home in a family-friendly city where people look out for each other, Nampa, Idaho, is a place to be. It’s also a terrific setting for swimming and hiking during summer, and snow sports in the winter. Founded 1891 in the middle of the Boise valley, the city today covers 32.9 square miles and is only a 15-minute drive to the state capital, Boise. Nampa’s median age is 33.3 (2022). It’s a center for shipping and food-processing, and includes some light industry, as well as several technology companies.


Luxury homes, single-family homes, and houses in Ranch and Craftsman styles populate Nampa’s residential streets. The typical home value is $424,487, up 3.9% over the past year (Zillow, 2022). Fun local events include the Nampa Festival of the Arts, the Harvest Classic Fun Run, and the Pooch Party Stroll and Splash.


Nampa’s major thoroughfares include I-84. The highway provides access to the Brookdale Estates subdivision, which offers large homes on clean streets. Residents can enjoy a combination of city and country living in the family-friendly Copper River Basin neighborhood, where many homes are new. Larger families may appreciate Franklin Village, which features three to five-bedroom homes.
