Kirkwood

Kirkwood has become one of the hottest neighborhoods in Atlanta. Why is everyone flocking there? Many are introduced to the community due to its charming and quaint strip of locally-owned businesses. But families, young professionals, and savvy investors are seeing more than that. They see a diverse and eclectic neighborhood of beautifully renovated Victorian and Craftsman homes with a strong local economy, good schools, and conveniently located five miles from downtown Atlanta.

Since its establishment in the mid-1800s, Kirkwood has been attracting residents. More recently, it has gone through gentrification attracting a mix of residents mainly aged from 25-44. Today, people come for the unique food, shopping and music offerings, as well as popular events like the Kirkwood Wine Stroll, Kirkwood Spring Fling, Tour of Homes, and ‘Lanta Gras. Its Kirkwood Urban Forest was transformed from a former dumping ground into a beautiful nature preserve where you’ll find walking trails, an orchard, a creek, a large grassy field, and even a community garden.
