Brentwood

Part of Travis County, the neighborhood of Brentwood is known as one of the best places to live in all of Texas. Comfortably nestled between bordering Allendale, Rosedale, and Crestview, with a beautiful tree-lined creek running through the center of the Arroyo Seco road. Very safe but still with great proximity to downtown, the area is home to many young professionals and offers a rich array of cafes and nightlife hangs.

Settled primarily by GIs after WWII who were starting new families and settling down into more comfortable lives, today Brentwood is a thriving suburban neighborhood. Outdoor recreation is plentiful as well with access to Brentwood Park, completed with tennis courts, soccer fields, and baseball diamonds.

A storied standout is the area’s vintage 1930s burger bars and restaurants like the infamous Threadgill’s, which was a favorite of Janis Joplin during her college years.

Brentwood is served by the Austin International School District, one of the premiere districts in the entire state. Opened in the 1950s, Brentwood Elementary School is still the only public pre-K-6 in the area. However there are many private academies and institutions available, such as Austin Classical School and Brentwood Christian School.
