Aurora

At first glance, Aurora, Colorado, may appear to be just another suburb of Denver. A closer look, however, reveals a town with a flavor all its own. The 163.2 square-mile “Gateway to the Rockies,” founded in 1891, features a low cost of living and the best of nature and big city. Its median age is 34.8 (2022). Healthcare, renewable energy, and aerospace and defense are the main drivers of its economy.

Aurora offers various types of housing, from condos and mobile homes to single-family homes in Contemporary, American bungalow, Mid-Century Modern and Mountain Rustic styles. The typical home value is $514,449, which is up 13.9% over the past year (Zillow, 2022). In addition to the great outdoors, residents can enjoy annual events, such as Carnival on the Plaza, the Agriculture Festival, and a Holiday Tree Lighting.

Aurora straddles I-70, which provides access in and out of Denver. I-225 runs north-south and is close to the Pheasant Run neighborhood’s parks, grocery stores, and places to eat. The E-470 beltway east of the city runs north-south, adjacent to Saddle Rock Golf Club and its surrounding cul-de-sacs. Tallyn’s Reach, a luxurious residential community, is nearby, along with Seven Hills, an area that attracts families and young professionals who want a quieter lifestyle.

With so much on hand, from athletics and mountain views, to a reservoir beach and a burgeoning arts scene, Aurora provides its residents with plenty of value.
