San Antonio

San Antonio in south-central Texas is a unique place to be. It’s steeped in Hispanic culture and Spanish colonial missions, and is home to the Riverwalk waterway and the Alamo. Nicknamed “Alamo City,” San Antonio was founded in 1718. Now stretching across 504.6 square miles of gently rolling terrain dotted with cacti, mesquite, and forested land, it has a median age of 33.8 (2022). Its main industries include military, healthcare, tourism, government, and oil and gas.

San Antonio’s home styles are as varied as its industries: There’s Stick, Italianate, Queen Anne, NeoClassical, Mission, Spanish Revival, and Mid-Century. The typical home value is $298,046, up 14.3% over the past year (Zillow, 2022). Adding to the city’s charm are annual events which include the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, Fiesta San Antonio, and the World Heritage Festival.

I-10 and I-35, and U.S. Highways 87, 90, 181 and 281 all serve the city. The El Dorado neighborhood, which is near I-35, is ideal for families looking for a mid-sized home in a quiet area close to parks and schools. Tree-lined Monte Vista, right by U.S. Highway 281, offers homes in a mix of architectural styles, and proximity to good coffee and nightlife. Further west and adjacent to I-10 is Beacon Hill, a dog-friendly area filled with condos, family homes, shops, and restaurants.

A relaxing vibe envelops all that San Antonio is and has to offer, making it a truly special place.
