Wynwood

North of Downtown Miami, Wynwood is considered one of the world’s most hip and happening destinations. With converted warehouses, colorful murals and more than 70 eclectic art galleries, Wynwood is at the epicenter of style, art and culture in Miami.

Known as a center for contemporary and street art, Wynwood has artwork to fit every person’s budget. One of the main attractions in Wynwood is the outdoor gallery which showcases the work of street artists and features Wynwood Walls, a collection of more than 35 murals by artists worldwide. Stylish eateries, craft breweries and funky boutiques are the hallmark of this area, which is filled with non-stop energy.

In the 1950s, many Puerto Ricans immigrated to the Wynwood area, and you’ll still find lots of Puerto Rican-owned markets, restaurants and shops along its streets. Like neighboring communities in the area, Wynwood has seen increased investment since the early 2000s.

For those wanting a break from Wynwood’s art and fashion scene, the area offers up the Roberto Clemente Park. Or, take a short trip East to enjoy the Biscayne Bay waterfront, including Margaret Pace Park, the Venetian Islands or the Miami Children’s Museum on Watson Island.
