The small neighborhood of Spring Garden is nestled just northeast of downtown Miami and northwest of Little Havana. In 1997 Spring Garden was designated as an official Historic District in the City of Miami due to its significance "in the historical, archeological, and architectural heritage of the City of Miami.” It’s considered the oldest, single-family neighborhood still remaining intact along the Miami River which runs along its entire southwest border.

The Seybold Canal, named after the German-born industrialist John Seybold, runs along the northern edge of the neighborhood. He dredged what was Wagner Creek at the time and constructed a turning basin to allow ships to change direction. Then, he purchased the land between the two bodies of water for residential development and advertised it as “one of Miami’s premier housing communities” in the 1920s.

Due to its location between two waterways, Spring Garden offers residents plenty of great riverside views. They can also take a short walk to nearby Spring Garden Park to enjoy some green space. For those wanting to venture out, the community offers easy access to the vibrant greater metropolitan area and the dozens of sporting, entertainment, dining and cultural activities of a coastal region.
