North University

Merely steps from the University of Texas and a short drive to downtown Austin, North Campus is a desirable location for students and is much quieter than options on West Campus. Verdant and tree lined, the historic neighborhood is beautiful and bike friendly. Here, student housing is interspersed throughout suburban enclaves. Homes from the early 20th century are mixed within the updated urban facades.

North Campus is nestled between 38th Street to the north, W 27th Street to the south, Duval Street to the east and Guadalupe Street to the west. An area with a high walking score, there are many popular hangout spots for trendy residents. As is tradition near campus there are several hip cafes like JP’s Java’s and Spiderhouse Cafe. Only a few minutes by car are all the joints lining 6th Street and the rest of the lively downtown district.

On the border of the UT Austin campus itself, North Campus is home to a healthy mix of resident demographics. Young professionals, families, retirees, and students of the university all make up this unique and thriving neighborhood.

Also part of the Austin Independent School District. Residents can feel safer knowing the local hospital, St. David’s Medical Center, is a Top 100 hospital in the country.
