Franklin Park

A dense suburban neighborhood, Franklin Park is part of Travis Country and located in south-central Austin. The area was named for Franklin Neighborhood Park, one of the many parks that locals can frequent. With affordable housing and close proximity to the University of Texas, there are many students in the area. This safe and quaint neighborhood brims with a mix of multicultural communities.

While this relatively quiet neighborhood does not have its own bustling nightlife amenities, downtown is only a 15 minute car ride away. There are several coffee shops and restaurants in the area, like the trendy local favorite Radio Coffee & Bar and Aviator Pizza & Drafthouse.

Bordered in the southwest by the lush and green Williamson Creek Greenbelt, residents can enjoy many winding and relaxing nature trails. You can take in the beautiful natural scenery and go cycling or jogging by the waterside. Another large state park is to the east – the 640-acre McKinney Falls State Park – with even more recreational activities like fishing and camping.

Franklin Park residents will find themselves part of the Austin Independent School District, allowing access to many of the very best schools in the state. Notable close institutions include Garza Independence High, one of the best high schools for the arts in Texas.
