Originally created in the 1870s, The Cedars quickly evolved into one of Dallas’ premier locations with sophisticated Victorian homes. Some of Dallas’ most famous residents lived in The Cedars, including Stanley Marcus of Neiman Marcus. While the area has seen its share of ups and downs, it’s now again thriving. With urban development, new townhome communities, apartments and renovated lofts are springing up everywhere.

Cedars is also known for its lively nightlife with ultra-cool cocktail bars, live music venues and art galleries. The Dallas Museum features original pioneer homes and even a schoolhouse. When it comes to dining, locals can choose from no-frills burger joints or high-class Vietnamese restaurants.
