West Lakeview

Located right near the Lakeview Community on the western border, West Lakeview is an extremely distinct neighborhood that has a very strong historical base in the way that it shows off its classic Greystone's, which can be dated from the twentieth century. Ashland Avenue and Belmont Avenue are two streets that visitors to the area may recognize as they make their way through the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is located approximately eight miles from the heart of Chicago.

Earlier, many local Chicago residents considered West Lakeview to be more of a countryside view rather than an integral location of Chicago itself. However, this very small neighborhood experienced an extreme amount of rapid growth that occurred during the late 19th century mostly due to real estate and many new people originally arriving from other locations. The small neighborhood, now a part of Chicago, was incorporated into the city in 1887. In addition to the very rich history that the city has to offer new and returning visitors, Fish Bar is a lovely restaurant that gives this Chicago neighborhood a large amount of its charm and appeal. With local grocery stores like Jewel Osco and Paulina Market, the city has certainly attracted many new residents over the years and sure to do so for the many years to come as well due to its historic nature and atmosphere.
