Lake Highlands

There are few places that stand out in Dallas like Lake Highlands. Located just East of the North Central Expressway, this neighborhood is prime real estate for residents who want quick access to the city while living a more relaxed, laid-back lifestyle and plenty of lush green space. Lake Highlands is also not one neighborhood: it’s a collection of charming subdivisions including Alexander’s Village, Forest Meadow and Hamilton Park.

One of the most interesting characteristics of Lake Highlands is rolling hills and lush green space. It’s those same rolling hills, combined with grand shade trees, including oak and pecan, that makes Lake Highlands unforgettable. But the history of Lake Highlands is even more memorable. Dating back to the 1950s, the original neighborhood was a traditional suburb bounded by Walnut Hill, Northwest Highway and Plano Road. As urban development expanded, so did Lake Highlands' desirability. This family-friendly neighborhood is home to several excellent school systems. Lake Highlands also accounts for a large percentage of northeast Dallas. It’s much larger than most other Dallas neighborhoods, and it also sits at a higher elevation. Lake Highlands offers a hometown feel while living in a big city, with White Rock Lake just south of this charming community.
