Cleveland Park

One of Washington’s National Register Historic Districts, Cleveland Park was originally developed as a so-called “streetcar suburb” of the city, beginning in the late part of the 1890s.

Due to its old origins, the area still displays some stunning examples of architecture and landscapes that are symbolic of the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, including some fabulous Victorian and Art Deco buildings. These live side by side to more modern homes, making Cleveland Park’s architecture truly unique.

A beautiful, safe, and family-friendly area, Cleveland Park is home to a variety of schools, green spaces, stores, and eateries. As one of the capital’s highest points, the area enjoys cooler summers – a trait that made it a favorite vacation spot for the city’s elite residents in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Cleveland Park has a village-like, almost idyllic feel, but is also abuzz with plenty of shops, entertainment, art, and culture.

With its sprawling parks, a fantastic range of amenities, and shopping opportunities for everyone, Cleveland Park is a great place to visit, explore, or even turn into your forever home.
