One of the most beautiful communities in all of Atlanta is Buckhead Forest. This 36-acre neighborhood, designated on the National Register of Historic Places, was developed as four separate subdivisions between 1911 and 1945. Today, its rolling topography, curvilinear streets, and large dignified homes, still exude that park-like charm that beckons to new homeowners. Its median age is 30. Many are executives who work in Atlanta but wanted a safe environment near their offices without the long commute. Buckhead Forest fulfills those desires. The community is dotted with a variety of home styles, such as American Small Houses, English Cottages, and ranch houses. These original homes have preserved the community’s curb appeal. Homes values continue to rise with a median home value of nearly half a million. Contributing to its family appeal are community events such as Christmas gift exchanges and Easter egg hunts.
On the outskirts of the community are three busy thoroughfares: Roswell, Peachtree, and Piedmont Roads. Buckhead Village with its high-end boutiques and fine dining sits on its southern side. On its northern side are many idyllic multi-million dollar homes that seem far away from the office towers in Buckhead’s office district. Leaving Buckhead Forest is easy as it sits near GA-400.
Its beauty can be attributed to the energetic community that maintains its gentle and quiet ambiance. Together its residents work together to prevent development from the negative affects of traffic.
