Zilker

Seen as a thriving neighborhood, Zilker is an area to keep residents entertained. Founded in 1917, the park has canoe and bike rentals, a large playground, and even a disc golf course. The Barton Springs Pool is a rare oasis in the city, encouraging swimmers in the warmer months to enjoy its beautiful spring-fed waters. Locals and visitors alike flock here for large scale annual music events like Austin City Limits Music Festival and South by Southwest. Zilker is part of the Austin Independent School District, which includes many of the very best public high schools in the state of Texas. The neighborhood is zoned for Zilker Elementary School, and parents can choose to send students to high ranking schools like Austin High School or the Liberal Arts & Science Academy.
