Ogden

Ogden, the first settlement in Utah, is a city north of Salt Lake City. Many residents and visitors love it because it’s the gateway to several ski resorts. Previously, it served as the transfer point between the Union Pacific and Central Pacific railroads, hence its old nickname “Junction City.” Settled in 1844, it now covers 27.5 square miles, and has a median age of 33 (2022). Its economy is mainly driven by manufacturing, transportation, and aircraft industries.

When it comes to homes, common architectural styles in Utah include Pioneer, Victorian, and Period Revival. The typical home value in Ogden is $381.372, up 9.0% over the past year (Zillow, 2022). The city’s annual events, such as the Harvest Moon Celebration, Ogden Arts Festival, and the Snowbasin Blues, Brews & BBQ, offer something for everyone to enjoy.

Ogden’s major thoroughfares include I-15 and I-84. Popular neighborhoods are the affluent Harrison Boulevard/E 4600 S, where mansions line the streets. The suburban community around Weber State University offers large and average-sized homes, in addition to apartments. In the Taylor area, most of the dwellings consist of single-family homes.

Ogden provides all the benefits of an urban lifestyle, along with incredible access to the outdoors, complete with fresh air, and miles of hiking and biking trails.
