Kenwood

Kenwood has a rich cultural heritage that includes many historic buildings such as churches and homes dating back to 1869 when it was first settled by European immigrants. Today, it is an affluent residential neighborhood in Chicago. The majority of the homes are large Victorian style residences with front porches and manicured lawns. The streets are lined with trees that create a canopy over the sidewalks during the warmer months. The neighborhood has a quaint feel to it due to its proximity to Lake Michigan and lack of commercial development. There are many parks in Kenwood that provide ample space for recreation such as playing sports or walking your dog. The area is replete with restaurants, bars, shops, and other businesses that cater to its inhabitants' needs. It also has numerous public parks, including one with an Olympic-sized pool and another with a natural lake and fishing pier.

There are plenty of public schools in this area for children to attend as well as private schools for those who can afford them. The Kenwood community is home to the University of Chicago, the DuSable Museum of African American History, and the Robie House. The University of Chicago is one of the world's leading research universities. The school's campus is located in the heart of the Kenwood community.
