Oak Lawn

Located only two-miles northwest of the lively Downtown Dallas area, the Oak Lawn neighborhood is a vibrant locale that is home to bars, boutiques, restaurants, nightclubs, as well as a monthly calendar full of community events. It’s a progressive district, which has evolved from being the focus of Dallas’ counterculture movement to being one of most friendly 'hoods’ where everyone is accepted. It’s also home to some of the city’s most noteworthy parks, specifically, Oak Lawn. This is where you’ll find singles and families alike enjoying the day picnicking or strolling around Turtle Creek. Reverchon Park and the scenic Katy Trail, which is Dallas’ first concrete hiking-biking trail, are also close by. Those who enjoy the outdoors will fall in love with this 3.5-mile trek through Highland Park, Uptown and Downtown.

Although this neighborhood is full of energy during the day, it really comes alive at night. You can enjoy an evening of light jazz and sips in the Warwick Melrose Hotel or get down to some soulful tunes at the Windmill Lounge. On Cedar Springs Road, you’ll find some of the neighborhood’s most eclectic nightlife, including dive bars, drag and honky-tonk saloons where you can mix and mingle.
