Interstate H-1 passes by Maliki, a residential neighborhood just inland of downtown; Nuʻuanu, an upper-middle-class area; and Waiʻalae and Kāhala, upscale districts directly east of the volcanic tuff cone, Diamond Head. The other major highways include the H-2 and H-3.
