Georgetown

Stretched along the Potomac River, Georgetown is one of Washington’s historic neighborhoods. Home to a plethora of exciting shops, hotels, and restaurants, Georgetown is a real commercial and entertainment hub.

Art is also at home, in Georgetown: the area hosts some of the city’s most vibrant and innovative art galleries, and bursts with history and culture. Try walking along its streets to admire the original mansions from the 18th and 19th centuries, including former homes of Julia Child and JFK.

And when hunger hits, you’ll be pleased to know that Georgetown will deliver. Great, local food is on offer throughout the neighborhood, as well as more upmarket and alfresco dining options. Speaking of the outdoors, Georgetown is also a favorite among waterfront lovers.

If you’re one of them, head over to the Georgetown Waterfront Park and revel in the local outdoor activities that the area offers, including biking, kayaking, and jogging.

When night-time falls, Georgetown doesn’t go to sleep: locals and tourists alike can enjoy a leisured drink by the river, a classy live jazz performance, or a game of bowling.
