Garrison Park

Garrison Park has its own feeling of suburban and urban vibes tossed together, then shaken and stirred. Within the Travis County lines, this ethnically diverse neighborhood is known as a good place to live in Texas. It is rather quiet and offers convenient access to other parts of Austin including downtown through both major highways, the I-35 and MoPac.

The area is teaming with families and young professionals, with plenty of retail and gym locations ready to serve. There are also a healthy amount of restaurants, and you can stop in for a sip at a local bar or cafe like Summer Moon Coffee. Check out Cherry Creek Catfish for a taste of local south Austin cuisine.

Locals describe the area as very dog friendly, with plenty of sidewalks for walking your pup. Nearby Longview Park and the named for Garrison Park as well as the grove as Southpark Meadows all provide lovely playgrounds for children. The recreational facilities are open to families yearlong and are perfect for picnicking during the warmer months.

Garrison Park has easy access to Austin Community College, which is in the area. The public schools themselves are part of the Austin Independent School District, and are rated average to above average. Residents also have the option of sending students to surrounding AISD schools like Richards School for Young Women Leaders.
