Greensboro

The medium-sized city of Greensboro is nestled within the rolling hills of North Carolina's Piedmont region. Founded in 1808, it has been nicknamed the “Gate City” because of its historic railroads and because many major highways intersect here. Spanning 136.7 square miles, its median age is 34.4 (2022). Industries such as furniture, textiles, tobacco, finance, and insurance are the main drivers of its economy.

Modern, Traditional, Colonial, and Farmhouse home styles populate residential neighborhoods, where the typical home value is $246,526, up 19.4% over the past year (Zillow, 2022). Residents can enjoy several annual local events, including the Colfax Persimmon Festival, the Greensboro Summer Solstice, Triad Vegfest, Vintage Market Days, and the Greensboro Holiday Parade.

Those major highways serving Greensboro are the interstate highways 40, 73, 85, 85 Business, 785, and 840. Popular neighborhoods include Fisher Park in the north-central area of the city. It contains condos, apartments, townhomes, and single-family homes. Just north of Fisher Park is Latham Park, which is close to the University of Greensboro. Old Irving Park, adjacent to Latham Park, is a great area for outdoor enthusiasts. Parks and trails surround this neighborhood.

A strong sense of community in Greensboro makes the metro area feel like a small town where the residents are neighborly.
