Cluster McDonough Guice

Cluster/McDonough/Guice is a small hamlet of 1,257 residents that is bounded by Intrenchment Creek, Moreland Avenue, and McDonough Blvd. Originally, the area was inhabited by the Creek Indian Nation, which ceded the lant to Georgia in the early 1800s. Downtown Atlanta is a short 22-minute ride. Homes in the hamlet, ranging from $100,000 to $700,000, are a mix of Craftsman style new construction with charming front porches and ranch style homes. There are many affordable rental properties as well.

Residents praise the area for its diversity, peace, and convenience. The neighborhood’s children either attend Parkside or Benteen elementary schools and attend King Middle and Jackson High Schools, which are in Grant Park, or the Genesis Innovation Academy. Citizens are active in the South Atlantans Neighborhood Development.

Spoon and Little Bangkok, two local Chinese restaurants, have been voted top neighborhood favorites. One eatery stands out above the standard fast-food establishments. Red Rice Restaurant offers up delicious authentic soul food with generous helpings of greens, sweet potatoes, ribs, chicken, salmon, and, of course, red rice.
