Born and raised on a little island called Manhattan, Christopher James spent his entire life exploring all the many wonderments that New York City is full of. Throughout all the vast changes and transformations the city has undergone in the last four decades, he proudly proclaims “New York is absolutely an amazing place to live, work and play.”
Having a great knowledge of this city's cultural, artistic, and historical aspects has helped make being in the world of real estate for the last 19 years a very natural process. Before Real Estate Christopher spent 35-plus years in the film and television industry. An award-winning writer, editor, producer, and director, he has traveled the world working on everything from documentaries and music videos to commercials and theatrically released feature films. Christopher also spent many years on Wall Street managing hedge fund portfolios.
“I chose to work with a well-known reputable organization such as Douglas Elliman because they offer the real estate community a smart, technologically advanced, and very hands-on approach that utilizes a vast array of products and services that are second to none in New York City,” he notes.
While proficient at selling, renting, and buying properties at all price points, he utilizes a calm and pointed strategy that is both methodical and expeditious. Over the years, Christopher has appeared on several “Top Producer” lists and the unique skill sets of the team around him provide an added abundance of critical expertise. “Clients benefit greatly from hearing about current market trends and knowing where the best deals in certain areas are. I simply need to help them make informed decisions.” he says. “It's important to help remove much of the stress that comes with finding a new place to live or selling the home you love.”
Christopher is founder and proprietor of the First Time Buyers Forum™ - an open seminar where people can learn the ins & outs of purchasing an apartment in New York City. Christopher notes “Over the years I've noticed that many people actually can become viable homeowners but simply being unaware of certain variables prevent them from taking the next step – to paying their own mortgage as opposed to paying some landlords' mortgage.”
In addition to writing, traveling, and being a human and civil rights advocate, one of Christopher's most important passions is the volunteer work he does with senior and handicapped citizens in retirement homes. “Just taking someone with a walker or wheelchair to the park, a local store, or the occasional restaurant, makes an absolute world of difference to their current condition.”
If you're looking for a reliable, honest, and very resourceful agent to assist you with your real estate needs, Christopher will always be glad to help.
