Tucson

Embraced by mountain ranges topped by desert skies, Tucson, Arizona’s scenery is a winner. The Spanish founded the 266.7 square-mile city as a military fort in 1775. Today, its distinct neighborhoods lie on what is mainly a grid pattern. Many residents – whose median age is 34 (2022) – work in arts, tourism, manufacturing, technology, and aerospace/defense.

Tucson has lots of curb appeal, owing to its variety of home styles: Modern, Spanish Colonial, Sonoran, Mediterranean Revival, Modern Ranch, and Pueblo Revival. Homebuyers can expect an average price of $327,535, which is an increase of 12.8% over the past year (Zillow, 2022). The city’s annual events are as varied as its homes. For example, there's the Tucson Festival of Books, the Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase, and the Colorguard Classic golf tournament.

Tucson’s interstate highways include I-10 and I-19. I-10 provides access to the bike-friendly Civano neighborhood, where trees and brightly colored homes line the streets. Further north, near downtown, is Amory Park, an ideal location for anyone who wants to be close to the action yet live in a more relaxed environment. Another area near downtown is Barrio Viejo, known for its Adobe-style homes and authentic Mexican cantinas.

Tucson maintains sight of its roots, despite the fact it’s always changing. People from all walks of life are here, amid the historical architecture, nature trails, and vibrant nightlife.
