Beaverton

Beaverton, Oregon, has been named for a nearby body of water created by beaver dams. Incorporated in 1893, it stretches across 19.6 square miles, and has a median age of 36.8 (2022). Beaverton is located in the middle of “Oregon’s Silicon Forest,” an area that's home to a cluster of high-tech companies. A mix of technology, professional and commercial services, and retail and wholesale trade dominate Beaverton’s economy today.

The city’s residential neighborhoods are filled with homes in Ranch, Mediterranean, and Craftsman styles. The typical home value is $561,271, up 9.3% over the past year (Zillow, 2022). Annual events, including the Beaverton Night Market, the Beaverton Craft Beer Festival, and Beaverton Holiday Bazaar and Tree Lighting, add to the city’s charm.

Among the highways serving Beaverton are Oregon Route 217, and U.S. Route 26. The Vose, Five Oaks, and Cedar Hills neighborhoods are close to highways, making for a shorter commute to nearby Portland. In Vose, the houses are mostly mid-century, and have large yards. Cedar Hills, probably one of the most popular neighborhoods, is close to markets and daily necessities. Five Oaks, just south of Sunset Highway, has amenities less than a mile from most homes in the area.

Beaverton is bustling, welcoming, and responsive. The city boasts many parks, trails, and open spaces for families and active residents to enjoy while exercising and breathing in fresh air.
