Trenton

Trenton is the capital city of New Jersey, located on the Delaware River, bordering Pennsylvania. Founded in 1719, it covers 8.2 square miles today, and has a median age of 35 (2022). The railroad, trucking, metalworking, electrical, and textile industries are among the main drivers of its economy.

Anyone looking to buy a home in Trenton will find they’re spoiled for choice when it comes to styles: Victorian, Italianate, Queen Anne, Greek Revival, French Second Empire — they’re all there. The average home price is $274,465, which is up 15.4% over the past year (Zillow, 2022). Annual events keep residents engaged, entertained, and fed — there’s Crawfish Fest and the Seafood Festival, as well as the Festival of Ballooning, the New Jersey State Fair, and Fall-O-Ween.

Major thoroughfares include U.S. Routes 1, 12, and 29. Young families are attracted to Trenton for its parks, public school system, large shopping centers, and low cost of living. Some of the best neighborhoods to live in are all next to each other: Central West, which is near the Delaware River and next to the North 25 neighborhood, which is next to Battle Monument.

The people of Trenton are what makes the city a great place to live, complete with proximity to the larger cities of New York and Philadelphia.
