Warwick

Lying on the western shore of Narragansett Bay in east-central Rhode Island is the city of Warwick, home of the American Revolution’s true opening act of rebellion — the burning of the Gaspee. The city was founded in 1642, and now covers 49.7 square miles. Its median age is 45.1 (2022), and its economy is mostly driven by tourism, and the manufacture of jewelry, metals, machinery, and electronics.

Most of the houses, condos and apartments in Warwick have a view of the water, since the bay surrounds most of the city. Typical home styles include Bungalow, Ranch, Cape Cod, and Colonial. The average price of a home here is $358,785, which is an increase of 10.2% over the past year (Zillow, 2022). The city hosts events year-round, including the Gaspee Days Festival, the Kayak Regatta, and a summer concert series.

Warwick’s major highways include I-95, I-295, Route 37, and the T. F. Green Airport Connector Road. The Oakland Beach neighborhood, accessed via Oakland Beach Avenue, is a nice place to live for those who enjoy the beach. Further north, Conimicut offers waterfront property. Nearby, Gaspee Point is filled with condos and apartments, while suburban Norwood, located near I-95, is ideal for families with children.

From state parks and golf courses to lighthouses and numerous shops and dining options, Warwick has a little bit of everything, including nearly 40 miles of coastline.
