Edmond

Edmond is considered by many to be the “Crown Jewel” of Oklahoma, located in the heart of the state, just north of Oklahoma City. It was founded in 1889 and now spans 87.5 square miles that get hilly on the east side of the city. Its median age is 36.8 (2022), and its main industries are education and healthcare.


Edmond’s residential neighborhoods are populated by a variety of home styles, including Farmhouse, Modern French Country, Contemporary, Tudor, Modern Mountain, Craftsman, and Coastal. The typical home value is $332,153, up 14.9% over the past year (Zillow, 2022). Adding to its appeal are annual events, such as the Downtown Edmond Arts Festival, Simply Indie Film Fest, and Boys Ranch Town Drive Through Christmas Pageant.


Edmond’s major thoroughfares include the north-south I-35, the east-west I-44 just south of the city, and U.S. Route 66. The city’s neighborhoods include Tuscany Villa, which features newer homes built within the past 20 years. Chimney Hill is a popular area, and offers homes built in ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s. Ranch-style homes dominate in Northwood, while townhomes takes centre stage in Turtlecreek Commons.


Edmond offers a high standard of living, and a small-town vibe (think close-knit community), with plenty of green spaces and public art to enjoy.
