Rosedale

Lush and leafy Rosedale is in the northern part of Central Austin, with a neighborhood of historic homes that date back to the 1930s and 40s. With 38th Street on its south border, North Loop on the north, Shoal Creek on its western border, and Lamar Boulevard on the east.

The locals love Ramsey Park, situated centrally in the neighborhood with easy access from all surrounding areas. Complete with a swimming pool, baseball diamond, basketball court, tennis courts, several playgrounds and lots of lovely picnicking spots. Even more outdoor recreational activities are at hand along the Shoal Creek Greenbelt, with miles of gorgeous hiking and biking trails.

Initially developed as farm and dairy lands in the mid-19th century, many of the homes were built in the early 20th century and the area has now seen a revitalization. Newer constructions mix fluidly with surrounding storied architecture. Many young families live here along with the retirees who have raised theirs and are proud to still call Rosedale home.

Among the higher ranking school districts in the nation, the Austin Independent School District includes some of the most prestigious public institutions in Texas. Parents can choose to enroll their students in the number one public high school in the state, the Liberal Arts & Science Academy High School, amongst other award winning schools serving the area.
