Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort may come to mind when thinking of Orlando, Florida, but there’s more to “The City Beautiful.” Established in 1885, the 119.1 square-mile city today lies in central Florida on generally flat terrain. With a median age of 33.9 (2022), it’s a major industrial and high-tech center focused on aviation, aerospace, software design, digital media, and agricultural technology.

Orlando’s residential areas are filled with homes in Pueblo, Mediterranean, Contemporary, Art Deco, and Craftsman bungalow styles. Homebuyers can also find condos and townhomes here. The average price of a home is $389,144, up 28.2% over the past year (Zillow, 2022). Contributing to the city’s appeal are annual events, such as Science on Tap, the Taco and Margarita Festival, and the Lunar New Year Festival.

I-4 is Orlando’s major highway. The Park Lake neighborhood, just off I-4, is home to many young professionals who enjoy the area’s parks, bars, and coffee shops. Thornton Park is also close to I-4. Its appeal includes historic homes, luxury apartments, and being a 10-minute walk from downtown. Directly south is Delaney Park, which has a family-oriented vibe, and an A-rated school zone.
