Lakeview

Lakeview is located on the city's North Side. Lakeview was originally part of Lake Township, which was annexed to the city of Chicago in 1889. The area was developed as a residential suburb of Chicago. The population of the area grew rapidly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Lakeview community is bounded by Diversey Parkway to the north, Belmont Avenue to the south, Clark Street to the east, and the shore of Lake Michigan to the west. The area is home to Wrigley Field, the Cubs home ballpark, and the Chicago History Museum. Wrigley Field is the home ballpark of the Chicago Cubs. The ballpark is located in the Lakeview community and has a capacity of over 40 thousand people. The ballpark was built in 1914 and is the second oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball. The Cubs have played at Wrigley Field since their inception in 1876.

The Chicago History Museum is located in the Lakeview community as well. The museum is dedicated to the history of Chicago and the region and museum is home to the city's largest collection of historical artifacts. In fact, it's so large that it has over 22 million artifacts, exhibitions and interactive programming.
