“One Community, One Family,” is the motto of the Hunter Hills neighborhood west of downtown Atlanta. It was established during the 1940s as a planned Black community. Blue- and white-collar professionals and entrepreneurs were drawn to the neighborhood and purchased traditional cottages and ranch style housing. Today, the area is seeing more modern-day homes being built such as a contemporary community of 13 new homes. Due to its elevated location, the homes offer breathtaking skyline views with prices starting at $325,000 for a three bedroom, three bath, 2,300 sq ft property.
Children living in the Hunter Hills community have Stanton Elementary, Harper-Archer Middle, and Douglass High School to attend. For activity and recreation, residents are near Mozley Park to the southwest and Washington Park on the eastern edge. Lionel Hampton Trail, which runs through Hunter Hills, connects these two parks. Hunter Hills benefits from being near the popular BeltLine where the three-mile Westside Trail connects some of Atlanta’s oldest and most historic neighborhoods.
