With Florida Avenue NW to the north, M Street NW to the south, 16th Street NW to the east, and 22nd Street NW to the west, Dupont Circle is one of Washington’s neighborhoods that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The area, though, has much more to show off than its historic roots. Bars, boutiques, cafes and museums are all at home here. Art lovers will be able to get their fix at America’s oldest museum of modern art, The Phillips Collection, or take a look at different art galleries for First Friday Dupont.
This area is incredibly diverse and multicultural, and is also one home to one of the largest communities of gay businesspeople, whose shops and eateries can be found all along the vibrant 17th Street.
Food lovers will also be spoilt for choice in this neighborhood. With fabulous cuisine from all corners of the world available pretty much everywhere in the area (including a Michelin-starred Japanese restaurant), Dupont Circle has something for everyone.
Dupont Circle is also one of Washington’s most-loved destinations for a spot of chilled-out reading and relaxing, especially by the Dupont Circle fountain.
