Just a short 5 miles east of Downtown Dallas, Buckner Terrace is the gateway to the City Dallas via Highways 30 and 80. This strategic location gives locals easy access to most other areas with the Dallas Metroplex.
Buckner Terrace is also rich in its history as it is in charm. Originally founded in 1959 by Robert Cooke Buckner, who went to open the Buckner Orphanage, it was eventually sold to provide a better life for the children who lived there. The area was divided in two: half commercial and half residential. Now, Buckner Terrace is considered a hidden jewel in a friendly neighborhood of culturally diverse residents. Buckner Terrace’s boundaries run north from Interstate 30, south from Forney Road and east Buckner Blvd. The homes in Buckner Terrace were built in the 1960s through 1990s. The majority of homes in the area are ranch or two-story homes with garages. Buckner Terrace also has two gated communities within its parameters: The Enclave of Wooded Creek and Grove Hill. Today, many streets within Buckner Terrace still have the same pretty oak, pecan and magnolia trees from years ago lining the blocks.
