boston

Boston is a city with depth in every sense of the word. Centuries-old in history and tradition, Boston has much to offer in culture, entertainment, relaxation, and adventure.

As one of America's oldest cities, it dates back nearly 400 years and is one of the most historic cities in North America. The Freedom Trail is a 2.5-mile walk through downtown Boston, marked with a line of red bricks, that takes you past 16 historic sites that tell the story of the American Revolution. They include the Old State House, Paul Revere's house, and the Bunker Hill Monument, among others.

Many of this country's earliest patriots hailed from Boston. Natives like Samuel Adams fought for America's independence while envisioning a new nation that would house the world's best educational institutions. Some of these early ideas are still preserved in the city today, most notably through institutions like Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Boston's many colleges and universities bring in students/residents by the droves, with an estimated 150,000 college students. This gives Boston a youthful vibe that makes it attractive to young professionals who are just starting their careers. College graduates also love the easy access to academic research institutions, which provide many opportunities for post-graduate employment in line with their degree.

Beyond education, the city offers many forms of entertainment, relaxation, and adventure. Boston has miles of waterfront, providing many opportunities for outdoor recreation. The town is surrounded by the ocean on three sides, with plenty of beaches to enjoy during hot summer days or family vacations.

There are hundreds of public parks and gardens for picnics or taking an afternoon stroll through. Additionally, there are numerous historical sites throughout the region to experience and plenty of cultural venues to visit. With the many movie theaters, live music shows, plays, dance performances, and art galleries in town, there are places to go and things to do just about every day.

Boston is often overshadowed by its close neighbor, New York City. However, the city has so much more to offer with its rich history, convenience, and quirky neighborhoods.

Beacon Hill is one of Boston's most historic neighborhoods, with narrow streets and brick row houses dating back centuries. The West End is full of grand churches and lush green spaces and has its own stop on the Freedom Trail. The Back Bay features the beautiful 19th Century brownstone-lined Newbury Street as an upscale shopping destination, while the neighborhood Allston-Brighton has a thriving college scene. To experience the best of Boston's Italian culture and cuisine, the North End is the place to go.

If there's one thing that the city takes seriously, it's their sports, particularly hockey with the Boston Bruins and professional football with the New England Patriots. Fenway Park, home to the Boston Red Sox, is the oldest stadium in Major League baseball and another fan favorite amongst Bostonians.

When it comes down to it, there's something for everyone in this city. In every way possible, Boston knows how to have fun!
