Located in East Dallas, the Belmont neighborhood was originally founded by Dallas pioneer, Colonel Henry Exall. It runs west from Greenville Avenue and east to Skillman Avenue. The northern border of the neighborhood runs to LLano Avenue.
The neighborhood has preserved much of its original architecture. There are combinations of both old and new homes in the Tudors, Prairie, Colonial Revival and Craftsman, in addition to other types of early 20th century architectural styles. The mature shade trees and laid-back lifestyle makes this neighborhood an ideal place for those who enjoy more quiet surroundings. It’s also a very walkable neighborhood in close proximity to Lower Greenville’s business and entertainment district. As serene as Belmont is, it’s still an extremely sociable neighborhood where residents enjoy chatting with each other, and it’s not uncommon to run into locals and have them remember your name. Belmont is an extremely walkable and bikeable neighborhood, so it’s easy to leave your car at home and run errands by foot or on your bike.
Belmont also offers residents all the perks you would expect in a charming community. There are numerous grocery stores, quaint coffeehouses and plenty of places to satisfy your sweet tooth or enjoy fine dining.
