Minneapolis

Minneapolis, Minnesota, borders the state capital of St. Paul. Both cities share many political, educational, and cultural institutions, which is why they’re nicknamed “Twin Cities.” Yet, Minneapolis has its own unique features: It’s the state’s largest city, and is home to 13 lakes, wetlands, creeks, waterfalls, and the Mississippi River. Founded in 1867, Minneapolis lies on a relatively level plain across 57.5 square miles. Its median age is 32.3 (2022). Trade, transportation, utilities, education, health services, professional and business services are its main economic drivers.

The average price of a home in Minneapolis is $332,355, an increase of 2.2% over the past year (Zillow, 2022). Homes in Tudor, Ranch, Prairie, Colonial, Italianate, Craftsman, Spanish Mission, and Post-War styles can all be found here. The city also hosts as many annual events, including the U.S. Pond Hockey Championships, a cross-country ski race, and arts festivals.

Getting in, out and around Minneapolis is easy, with access to the north-south I-35W, and east-west I-94. West of the I-35W in the city’s southwest end is the neighborhood of Linden Hills. This area features a range of housing options, from bungalows and cottages to vintage apartments and modern townhomes — perfect for singles and young professionals. Loring Park, just off I-94, includes condos, while Whittier in south Minneapolis has single-family houses.

Minneapolis has so much to offer, including cleanliness. Forbes magazine has recognized the city as the cleanest in the country.
