The largest city in Oregon, Portland, is situated between the Columbia and Willamette rivers, beneath snow-capped Mount Hood. Founded 1845, it now covers 145 square miles, and has a median age of 37.5 (2022). Its main industries include healthcare, manufacturing, high-tech, and athletic and outdoor apparel.

This area offers condos and apartments with proximity to downtown. Bordering I-405 and U.S. 30 is one of the oldest established neighborhoods in the city, Northwest District. It’s also called Nob Hill, after its San Francisco counterpart, due to its similarly narrow streets, historic houses, and a density of storefronts. The walkable Pearl District, east of I-405, features industrial, old-school-style condos that have been renovated into bright, beautiful spaces.
