Jefferson Park is located on the northwest side of the city and contains an eclectic blend of residential, commercial, and industrial areas. It was originally a settlement of traders, but it became an independent township in 1850 until it was annexed to Chicago in 1889.

The Jefferson Park neighborhood is home to many ethnic restaurants and shops as well as a diverse population that includes immigrants from around the world including China, India, Mexico, Vietnam, Turkey, France, and Russia. br>
The neighborhood is known for being rich in cultural heritage and exciting festivals, which draws many locals and tourists to the area. There are tons of activities to do in this area. A popular event that Jefferson Park offers is the Taste of Polonia which is the largest Polish festival in the United States of America. This festival features great music from live bands, cultural performance, and a variety of traditional Polish foods. Additionally, the Jeff Fest Arts & Music Festival also takes place. This festival consists of local and national acts and takes place every summer. If you are looking for a bite to eat, you can check out Andy’s Deli & Mikolajczyk Sausage Shop, which has been around since 1918. If museums are more your thing, you can also frequent the Morgan Art Gallery, which just so happens to be the oldest Polish gallery in Chicago.
