Home of Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut, is a seaside metropolitan area located on New Haven Harbour. Founded in 1638, the 20.1 square-mile city today has many distinct neighborhoods that spread out in a spider-web like pattern from the grid layout of downtown. Its median age is 30.7 (2022), and most residents are professionals, service providers, or sales and office workers.

New Haven’s residential streets are lined with bungalows, townhouses, and homes in Ranch, Saltbox, Colonial, and Dutch Colonial styles. The average selling price of a home is $270,132, which is an increase of 11.1% over the past year (Zillow, 2022). Adding to New Haven’s appeal are various annual events, including the Cherry Blossom Festival, International Festival of Arts & Ideas, and New Haven Spring Restaurant Week.

New Haven is served by several major thoroughfares. I-95 provides access to downtown and Prospect Hill, an exclusive neighborhood just up the road from downtown. I-91 borders East Rock, which is home to many people connected to Yale University. In terms of real estate, the neighborhood has everything from mansions to multi-family homes.

New Haven combines both nature and city living: It has a walkable city center, in addition to plenty of trees, meadows, streams, and open fields.
