Omaha

Omaha, Nebraska’s largest city, lies on the Missouri River amid rolling hills and abundant sunshine. The city was founded in 1854 and today covers 146.3 square miles. Its median age is 34.9 (2022). Agriculture, insurance, transportation, healthcare, education, and food processing are the main drivers of its economy.

Omaha features plenty of desirable options for homebuyers, with styles ranging from Tudor to American Craftsman, to Ranch and Queen Anne Revival. The average price of a home here is $270,874, which is up 10.7% over the past year (Zillow, 2022). Adding to the city’s appeal are annual events, such as a summer arts festival, Omaha Fashion Week, the Nebraska Balloon and Wine Festival, and the International Horse Competition.

Omaha’s major thoroughfares include interstate highways 29, 80, 480, and 680, and U.S. Route 75. The Old Market neighborhood, just south of I-480, features cobblestone streets and is a solid choice for anyone looking for an upscale condo or apartment. Historic Hanscom Park, bordered by I-80 and I-480, offers single-family homes, while Elmwood Park, situated north of I-80, is filled with Colonial, Georgian and Tudor Revival-style homes.

Omaha is a city where residents can find everything they’re looking for, from all four seasons, to great schools, to lively arts and entertainment.
