Charles Hawkins is an exceptionally adept, well-spoken and effective real estate professional who combines small-town charm with big-city results. This Manhattan native was raised in Medina, Texas with a population of 450 and no stoplight. Charles has been selling real estate in Manhattan since 1997.
Today he is touted for his accomplishments in the fast-paced world of real estate in the most unique, frenetic and wonderful marketplace in the world. A downtown loft specialist, Charles has excelled in the sale and rental of commercial and residential property throughout Manhattan for well over two decades. Charles along with his Group has sold several hundred million dollars of real estate in Manhattan. Charles often represents Developers in selling residential units in Buildings ranging from 10-200 units. The Development Projects he has sold include 315 West 36th Street (Condo Loft Conversion), 464 West 44th Street (The Chatham Condo), 15 West 17th Street (Condo Loft Conversion) and 137 Duane Street (Condo Loft Conversion).
Prior to entering real estate, Charles owned three small businesses in Texas and New York including a seafood restaurant and jazz venue, plus was a registered Series Seven representative (stockbroker). His diverse background fuels his ability to understand his clientele's needs and negotiate/close deals on their best behalf. Charles earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Texas at Dallas, and is perhaps the only person ever listed in the Future Farmers of America and The New York Social Register at the same time (1975).
Charles is a life long learner and continues to educate himself- most recently taking courses at NYU in Philosophy and Harvard in Real Estate, he acknowledges they were ‘glorified continuing education but somewhat helpful'. Charles is also interested in stand up comedy most recently performed at The Gotham Comedy Club. Charles is the leader of a talented team at Douglas Elliman's 575 Madison Office. The Hawkins Team is from diverse backgrounds, with many specialties capable of handling any and all aspects of real estate transactions.
